Who is @TheRangerSteve
This site was created as the individual project for History and Digital Media (HIS515) part of the MA program in Public History at the University of Illinois at Springfield. The project is the work of TheRangerSteve (Steve) a second year MA student in the program with a background working in Public History since 2009. Some of the places that Steve has worked include: the Abraham Lincoln Tomb State Historic Site, The Lincoln Home National Historic Site, Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historic Site, Johnstown Flood National Memorial, and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum. In addition to work in public history, Steve is also a certified classroom teacher and has held positions with Chicago Public Schools and Riverton School District. Currently Steve can be found in the Oral History office of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library, as well as with his unit in the Illinois Army National Guard. Anticipated graduation with an MA in public history and a certification in GIS is currently December 2017, upon completion and defense of a thesis - the topic, well that's a secret.
